Kney Street Tranquility Park

Kney Tranquility Park is a serene space on Kney Street in the core of New Chicago. The CRA demolished an abandoned house on this site and transformed it into a sanctuary for reflection and remembrance. Dedicated to honoring the community’s elders who have passed, the park features trees planted in their memory and a vibrant pollinator garden that invites sensory engagement. A gentle trail encircles the central perennial bed, offering visitors a peaceful walk, while two benches at the trail’s crest provide a tranquil spot to sit, connect, and reflect. Uphill from New Chicago Park, it also serves as a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike.
