CRA’s Essential Housing Program Breaks Ground on First Home (Many More to Come)

The CRA held a groundbreaking for the first build of the Essential Housing Program on January 22 at 564 N. Manassas Street.
After nearly a year in the making, the Essential Housing Program is constructing much-needed affordable housing, creating walkable neighborhoods, and aiding emerging developers.
Over 65 units are to be created in Uptown and Binghampton on 43 vacant lots. The CRA has partnered with 13 emerging and local developers to make these new opportunities. Moody CDC was the first one to break ground this week in Uptown.
Many CRA-owned lots are still available in the program. If you’re interested in developing a lot, learn more and view available options at https://cramemphis.org/memphis-essential-housing/
