The Klondie Smokey City Community Development Corporation invites you to be part of a historic and meaningful celebration honoring the 100-year anniversary of Tom Lee’s extraordinary act of heroism. In 1925, Tom Lee, a humble yet courageous Memphis resident, saved 32 lives from the Mississippi River, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and selflessness that continues to inspire our community today.
As an organization dedicated to the development and enrichment of the Klondike neighborhood, where Tom Lee lived, we are proud to commemorate his legacy through a special event featuring a community pop-up museum that will showcase artifacts, historical records, and interactive exhibits detailing his life and heroic act. This free event will also feature live entertainment, delicious food, and music, bringing the community together in a spirit of remembrance and celebration.
