Kenny Halt
Senior Community Builder: GIS & Data Management
Kenny’s passion for urban planning developed as an adolescent in his hometown, Pittsburgh, PA. When his family relocated from a disinvested part of town to an affluent area, he noticed ridicule for his former home, and ignorance of the difference in opportunities from one area to another. Seeing his own privilege, Halt knew he wanted to dedicate his life to combating racism and systemic inequality. He obtained his undergrad double-majoring in Urban/Regional Planning and Political Science at Miami University in Oxford, OH. Halt then served in AmeriCorps as a Master Plan Implementation VISTA for the City of Flint, Michigan’s Planning & Zoning Division. As the Community Builder with the CRA, Halt focuses on community building through effective implementation of the Block Wellness program. He will also work with the CRA’s GIS (Geographic Information System) and mapping for community development.
