Black Seeds Urban Farms
Through the CRA’s Lots Re-Imagined program, Black Seeds applied to convert a vacant residential lot into an urban garden in the heart of the Uptown Greenlaw neighborhood. The previously vacant lot at 580 N Fourth St has developed as a place where neighbors can gather and grow together. Bobby & Derravia Rich have crafted an urban garden experience centered around their mission to grow organic produce. The lot originally needed some grading and excavation work, which the CRA was able to assist with. The space is now used for educational programming around growing produce and can be rented for small outdoor events. Additionally, Black Seeds offers consulting services to neighbors and organizations looking to convert vacant lots into urban gardens.
